I’m thrilled to introduce you to a brand-new book I had the pleasure of working on with the wonderfully talented Dr. Fionn Ó Marcaigh (TCD, Zoology). His insightful and beautifully written text for Encounters with corvids made illustrating and designing this book an absolute joy.
This project, supported by the Arts Council Ireland, is especially close to my heart, as it combines not only the most amazing family of birds, but also science, storytelling, and art to celebrate the intelligence, adaptability, and beauty of Ireland’s seven native corvids—rook, jay, hooded crow, jackdaw, chough, magpie, and raven. Each chapter offers a fascinating glimpse into these birds' lives, blending personal encounters, folklore, and scientific insights in a way that will captivate birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.
The book will be published by Natural World Publishing on 27.04.2025, and is now available for pre-orders at The Gutter Bookshop.
