Bees kind of scare us. Everyone while growing up must have had an incident of getting stung by a honey bee, at least once in their lifetime!
Now imagine if bees were as big as in this bee art! Would they become one of the scariest animals of the world? I bet so!
With over 20,000 species of bees found on earth, there are only 8 known species of honey bees.
Belonging to the genus "apis" (Latin for bees), honey bees are truly magnificent creatures. Relying on pollen and nectar from flowers as their only source of food, honey bees are also the world's most important pollinator of food crops. It is estimated that nearly one-third of food consumed by humans every day is pollinated mainly by bees.
These bee drawings are part of my personal project – an illustrated video – I have been working on between paid commissions.
Do you know what types of honey bee we have? And how small is the world's smallest bee and how big is the biggest one?
